About the Client

The client is a provider of operations management software for small to mid-size ground transportation companies. The client conceptualized the idea of building the Fleet Management software utilizing it’s over 13 years of experience in Transportation industry. The concept was to build a rich and user friendly client server application to reduce the time spent by end clients on managing their business.

Business Challenge

The initial software was developed in house by the client. The client was not satisfied with the results due to deficiencies in software quality, architecture and performance. The client was looking for a reliable partner to help transform the software to an enterprise grade application. Silicus offered its services in 2 stages:

  • Bug fixes and Architecture changes to the existing software application
  • Functional enhancements

The following activities were conducted during the re-engineering stage:

  • Functional and performance issues in the system were identified, and prioritized
  • A build cycle was set to receive the new builds with fixed issues
  • QA procedures for software testing were implemented

For functional enhancements, Silicus conducted a detailed requirement  gathering exercise to understand and document the new enhancements required and got them approved by the client prior to executing the next phase of the project.
