About the Client
The client is a small but well funded start-up developing Massively Multi-player Online Games (MMOG’s). The client was in the process of commercially releasing its MMOG that was initially available to online gaming buffs in the form of a Beta release. The client wanted to make sure the game was compatible with all popular software and hardware, including video cards, in order to have a smooth and issue free release.
The client had an aggressive release timeframe and was looking for a partner who could work with them in performing a detailed and accurate software and hardware compatibility testing exercise with a quick turnaround.

Silicus worked with the client in identifying and short listing the required hardware and software configurations for the compatibility testing exercise. Once identified, Silicus quickly assembled the hardware and software required for the exercise and got the project underway in quick time.
The configuration matrix was as follows:

Silicus completed the compatibility testing for a total of 196 configurations within 1.5 months, providing enough time for the developers to fix issues and make the game release on time. The scale and scope of hardware and software to be provisioned for the exercise was significant.
