About the Client
Founded in 2013 and based in Santo Monica California, the Client provides a mobile platform that powers super fan apps for the world’s biggest creators. Creators ranging from individuals to media companies can distribute all of their multimedia content in their own apps, interact more deeply and directly with their fan communities, and control their revenue streams.
The Client was looking for automated testing services for their Entertainment Website. Previously, they followed a manual process that was time consuming and prone to human error.
The Client approached Silicus to develop a test automation framework for the website, and wanted Silicus to build test cases and run automated tests through a Continuous Integration Server i.e. Jenkins.

Silicus developed an automated testing framework using Selenium Web Driver with Python scripting language. The automated test scripts were written in Python and executed on the website to check for bugs.
Jenkins continuous integration software was used for executing scripts, facilitating automated build testing and integration.
The different sections of the website that were tested were:
Selenium Web Driver
3rd Party Integrations
Jenkins for executing scripts.
REDUCED EFFORT AND TIME
Automated testing significantly reduced resource effort and time. Even test data were automatically prepared using the scripts. Manual efforts were limited to the creation of automated scripts.
The automated scripts were reused and were run on different environments by changing the prerequisite of the required test.
Multiple test scripts were executed in comparison with the manual run. Productivity was increased through less execution downtime and better test coverage using Jenkins for executing scripts.
