Visual Studio Team System
|
Microsoft Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) is a team based development platform for productive, integrated, and extensible software development life-cycle tools that helps software teams by improving communication and collaboration throughout the software development life cycle process. It consists of Visual Studio Team Suite and Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) |
Some of the Microsoft Visual Studio development areas where we can assist you -
Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Architecture Edition
Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Architecture Edition focuses on improving the design and validation of distributed systems. It gives architects, operations managers and developers the ability to visually construct service-oriented solutions and validate them against their operational environments prior to deployment.
Microsoft Visual Studio Team System Architecture Edition contains the Distributed System Designers. The Distributed System Designers are the first deliverable of the Dynamic Systems Initiative (DSI), aimed at improving the design and validation of distributed systems. The Distributed System Designers give software architects, infrastructure architects, operations managers, and developers the ability to increase the predictability of success by visually constructing service-oriented solutions that can be validated against their operational environments prior to deployment. |

Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Test Edition
Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Test Edition provides a comprehensive suite of testing tools for Web applications and services that are integrated into the Visual Studio environment. These testing tools enable testers to author, execute, and manage tests and related work items all from within Visual Studio.
Visual Studio Team System Test Edition includes a suite of test tools that are integrated closely with Visual Studio; they work not only in their own testing framework, but also within a larger framework of software life cycle tools.
Test Edition lets you create, manage, edit, and run tests, and also obtain and store test results. Several test types, including unit, Web, load, and manual tests, are integrated into Visual Studio. In addition, the measurement of code coverage is included. To learn more about the different available test types, see Selecting a Test Type.
You run tests by using the Visual Studio IDE. Additionally, you can run groups of tests or any single test other than the manual test type from a command line.
Because the testing tools are integrated with the other parts of the Visual Studio Team System, you can publish results to a database, generate trend and historical reports, compare different kinds of data, and see how many and which bugs were found because of testing.

Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server (TFS) is a team collaboration platform that combines team portal, version control, work-item tracking, build management, process guidance, and business intelligence into a unified server.
Silicus has an internal implementation of Team Foundation Server and the same can be customized to meet our customer needs/development policies. We use the following components of TFS
Team Build -ensure a continuous integration of the source code being built
TFS Source Control - for configuration management and remote source code control
TFS Work item tracking - Better development management and custom policies to be enforced for good quality of the application
Silicus can customize and adopt the standard Microsoft Solutions Framework template to meet customer needs in effective implementation of TFS.
